Clean Energy Central To Asia’s Net Zero Transition
The most important platform, anchored in Singapore, driving Asia’s net zero energy transition pathways.
IEA projected that global investment in clean energy was on course to reach USD1.7 trillion in 2023. Solar is a shining example, estimated to attract USD382 billion, more than global oil production for the first time.
According to IRENA, ASEAN can transition from just 19% renewable energy share in total final energy consumption in 2018 to 65% by 2050. Regional interconnectivity will support the region in realising this potential.
The Singapore Green Plan 2030, which positions us for 2050 net zero emissions aspiration, echoes such pathways including quadrupling solar energy deployment by 2025, and import of up to 4GW of low-carbon electricity by 2035.
